I recently read @bri.e.lee’s essay ‘Beauty’ and it was such a beautiful experience to read someone else’s story and feel completely understood. It sounds strange for me to write, but it made me realise that I would not be friends with the voice in my head if it were a person. Bri Lee perfectly captures the little voice in our head that critiques our every move and overanalyses every decision. I was a huge fan of Lee’s memoir ‘Eggshell Skull’ and this story picks up on the the unattainable beauty standards we place on ourselves. Highly recommended, Lee is such an incredible writer and has suchhh great style! 🥰💜💖 Note: some of the themes in this essay would be extremely triggering to read for anyone who has/is experiencing an eating disorder. #bookstagram #books #igbooks #igreads #brilee #beauty #eggshellskull #bookcollection #bookstagramfeature #bookish #bibliophile #nonfiction #readers #tbr #alcoholink #currentread #memoir #literature #bookish #bookstagramfeature
